“The beautiful colours of the rainbow can only be seen through the prism of rain”- Maria Fontaine.

They say time flies when you’re having fun. How true! It’s been a year since I started blogging. A big heartfelt THANK YOU to all my followers and readers! Your support has been a great source of motivation and always will be. I consider this as the first of all the milestones yet to be reached.

In this first year of my blogging journey, I’ve learned some valuable life lessons which I thought will be insightful and would like to share with you…

  • Visualizing is the great secret to success.

When we start something new, most of us have a lot of questions, wondering if it’s the right thing for us or what if something goes wrong. I had the same issues but once I started, I visualized myself as a professional blogger and realized that I was enjoying it and nothing else mattered anymore. Frankly speaking, though I’ve not reached my goals for the first year, at least I have made some progress.

  • Excellence is not an act, but a habit.

When you do something with enthusiasm and creativity on a regular basis, you get better and better at it, until you excel. This is one of the areas of life where addiction becomes a virtue. Practice has not made me perfect, but it helped me improve my skills.

  • Everyone has something valuable to offer.

Learning from something you love to do is a wonderful journey. I learned so much from every one of my co-bloggers, followers, and readers who liked and commented on my posts, that I can write a whole new series of posts about them! My posts on health and wellness, weight loss, nutrition, healthy recipes, relationships, inspiration, positivity, and caregiving – all of them were the result of the motivation from you.

  • When the going gets tough you get tougher.

Life’s difficult situations teach you perseverance. There were times when things went wrong – emergencies, lack of time, writer’s block, etc. What got me going was the thought that I have to be consistent and never disappoint people who expect a lot from me. When you are aware that others find value and meaning in what you do, you will perform and also excel, no matter what.

  • Genuine thoughts are always appreciated.

When well-meaning words come from the heart, they touch others’ hearts. I realized this whenever I received great comments for my posts, especially those on inspiration, happiness, and caregiving. It’s quite heart-warming to know that you strike a chord with people who need help.

What are the life lessons you learned in your special journey towards success?

What would you like me to write about next?  I would love to hear from you. Please share your comments below:
